Hey Y’all!

 

My name is Laykin, and I’m the face behind this blog!

 

I chose to create Falling In Love With Fitness to give a glimpse into my weight loss and fitness journey. I began my journey at the beginning of my freshman year at Belmont University. In the past, I had tried countless training plans and diets to lose weight, but nothing ever worked because I was miserable. That first semester in college, I decided that something needed to change to improve my health. But I was determined to enjoy the process. Since then, I have lost over 100 pounds without misery and actually enjoyed the process!

 

Over time, I realized I was not the only person who had felt this way on a fitness journey. This blog was created to show other women who have struggled with fitness, nutrition, etc., that they are not alone. There is more than just one way to improve their physical wellness! This blog will showcase the ups, downs, and every twist and turn I encountered throughout my journey. I want to share all the knowledge I gained from my journey to help anyone wanting to reclaim their health!

 

I will also be taking y’all along my process of training for my first-ever Half Marathon! If you told me 2 years ago that I’d be running for fun, I would laugh in your face. I used to dread running the mile in middle school. You literally could not pay me to run, and my entire life, I held that hatred for running very close. Now, it is something I truly find joy in doing, so I am excited to share this newfound love of running with y’all!

 

Now that you have learned a little about me and why I started this blog, I want to give y’all a quick rundown of what this blog is going to look like!

 

What to Expect

This blog will be composed of four different types of blog categories, with each of them showcasing its own unique perspectives.

Race Training

These blogs will be about my current goals of training for the Nashville Rock & Roll Half Marathon at the end of April and how the process is going.

 

My Journey

These blogs will be about my personal experiences throughout my weight loss and fitness journey, and how I have grown/changed because of them.

 

Workouts

These blogs will be about all of the different ways moving your body is good for you and how to find workouts that you actually enjoy doing.

 

Nutrition

These blogs will be about how prioritizing fueling your body has a major impact on your fitness journey, but how you can still have balance in your daily life.

 

I am so excited to share this part of my life with y’all through this blog! My fitness journey completely changed my life. I am happier, healthier, and feel like I can truly do anything I set my mind to!

 

I will be posting a new blog twice a week, so stay tuned for what’s to come next. If you fill out my Follow Me form, you will be signed up for my weekly emails, sent out every Friday! This will give an overview of what the blogs were about, highlight some upcoming races in the area, and showcase a nutrition tip of the week in every email!

 

Even though the main point of this blog is sharing my journey with y’all, I want to give y’all the option to request specific content you want to see from me. If there are any specific topics you would like me to discuss or questions you want answered, please fill out my Audience Requests form!
